Rural Doctors Network (RDN) supports practice managers through the provision of training and grant opportunities, webinars, conferences, New Rural GP Orientation workshops and the quarterly Practice Made Perfect news email. A highlight of the calendar is the Rural Practice Managers Conference, hosted by RDN and the Australian Association of Practice Management (AAPM) as part of Rural Health Month in November.

Practice Sustainability Grant

RDN launched the Practice Sustainability Grant in 2024, aiming to improve the viability and sustainability of rural practices by providing funding to practice managers and practice administration staff to upskill in business management. The grants are funded by the Department of Health, Disability and Ageing and Rural Health Workforce Support Program and are administered through RDN.


Rural Practice Managers Conference

The Rural Practice Managers Conference takes place annually in November as part of Rural Health Month and is designed specifically for rural practice managers, featuring content tailored to the unique challenges and opportunities in rural healthcare. The Conference allows attendees to hear from experts, connect with peers, share experiences, and build valuable professional relationships during dedicated networking functions.


Practice Made Perfect news email

Practice Made Perfect is RDN's quarterly news email for practice managers in remote, rural and regional New South Wales. A publication of RDN's Workforce Support team, providing information on sector news, events, training and funding opportunities.

New Rural GP Orientation Workshops 

RDN’s New Rural GP Orientation Workshops (NGPO) ensure a smooth transition for GPs new to rural practice. Held in a mix of metropolitan and rural locations and often co-located with other events, these workshops ensure accessibility and provide opportunities for these doctors to engage with the wider rural health community.
