It is the second year NRHSN has participated in the Games as part of its commitment to building respectful partnerships, celebrating culture, and working towards health equity.

NRHSN member and Bachelor of Medical Imaging student Alyssa Weir said the Games provided her with the opportunity to travel to remote NSW for the first time.

“Attending the 2026 Goodooga games on behalf of the NRHSN has been a highlight of my year!” Alyssa said.

“Being from rural Victoria, I was travelling to remote NSW for the first time, and it was an amazing experience I am so grateful to have been part of!

“The community was incredibly friendly and welcoming. It was great to connect with students from across the state, learn about their career aspirations, and encourage them to consider pursuing a degree in health and to return to work in their communities,” she said.

NRHSN has more than 7,000 members who belong to 29 university Rural Health Clubs from all states and territories. It is Australia’s only multidisciplinary student rural health network, bringing together people studying medicine, nursing and allied health, encouraging them to pursue rural health careers. Rural Doctors Network administers NRHSN on behalf of the Rural Workforce Agencies Network – (RWAN).
