Rural WONCA Assembly: Advancing the GRACE Initiative

04th May 2026

RDN_Article_Image_CaptionsBorders_(91).pngGRACE, which stands for Global Rural Health Action, Collaboration and Excellence, is a new initiative led by the WONCA Working Party on Rural Practice (Rural WONCA) which aims to identify, recognise and connect organisations worldwide that demonstrate exceptional commitment to rural health, creating a formal global network of centres of excellence.

On Thursday 9 April, as part of Rural WONCA 2026 held in Wellington, NZ, Australia’s National Rural Health Commissioner, Professor Jenny May AM, was one of four international participants who presented as featured GRACE examples, and later chaired the Rural Generalist and General Practice discussion as part of a series of lighting presentations and workshops.

RDN CEO, Richard Colbran participated in the Recruitment and Retention presentation, chaired by Anders Svensson.
