APPLICATIONS OPEN: Puggy Hunter Memorial Scholarship Scheme

Indigenous Allied Health Australia (IAHA), the National Association of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Health Workers (NAATSIHWP) and Rural Doctors Network (RDN) are proud to announce that applications for the 2026 Puggy Hunter Memorial Scholarship Scheme (PHMSS) round open today.
Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander health students who are studying or planning to enrol in a health degree in 2026 are encouraged to apply between 1 September and 31 October 2025.
Dr Arnold ‘Puggy’ Hunter was an outstanding and highly respected Aboriginal leader who dedicated much of his life to improving health and wellbeing outcomes experienced by Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people.
Named in his honour and to continue his legacy, the PHMSS aims to empower Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students to succeed in their undergraduate studies and provides access to financial, cultural, mentoring, and other supports for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students studying in health.
