Award category spotlight: Rising Star in Rural/Remote Health Award

This week, Rural Doctors Network is shining a spotlight on one of the National Rural and Remote Health Awards’ categories for 2025: Rising Star in Rural/Remote Health Award.

Rising Star Award.pngThe Rising Star in Rural/Remote Health Award recognises a student or early-career professional who has done exceptional work to improve health in rural and remote areas. The nominee should have implemented or contributed to innovative approaches to healthcare delivery, understand the social factors affecting rural/remote health, and be good at collaborating with others to improve health outcomes for rural/remote communities.

Mandatory criteria:

  • Nominee must be an individual. 
  • Demonstrate cultural responsiveness. 
  • In areas designated between MM3-7 of the Modified Monash Model classification system.

All rural, remote and regional communities now have the opportunity to showcase this work and the #ruralpositive stories that can be found in rural and remote health by nominating today.

Presentation of the Awards will take place on Ngunnawal country at the National Press Club of Australia, in Canberra, on Wednesday 5 November 2025.
