Award category spotlight: Excellence in Rural/Remote Health Administration

This week, Rural Doctors Network is shining a spotlight on the National Rural and Remote Health Awards’ newest category for 2025: The Excellence in Rural/Remote Health Administration Award.

RDN Latest News Instagram (14).pngThe Excellence in Rural/Remote Health Administration Award recognises an outstanding health care administrator who has made significant contributions in overseeing the administrative operations of hospitals, healthcare practices and/or other healthcare facilities in rural and/or remote areas. This award celebrates exceptional leadership, planning, and commitment to improving the quality of healthcare services in rural and/or remote communities. 

Mandatory criteria: 

  • Nominee must be an individual. 
  • Demonstrate cultural responsiveness.
  • Activities must have taken place during the period July 2024 - June 2025. 
  • In areas designated between MM3-7 of the Modified Monash Model classification system.

All rural, remote and regional communities now have the opportunity to showcase this work and the #ruralpositive stories that can be found in rural and remote health by nominating today.

Presentation of the Awards will take place on Ngunnawal country at the National Press Club of Australia, in Canberra, on Wednesday 5 November, 2025.
