Rural GPs Refresher Conference coming up at Sails Port Macquarie

Rural Doctors Network (RDN) and the Rural Doctors' Association of NSW invite you to this year’s Rural GPs Refresher Conference which will be held from 28-30 March at Sails Port Macquarie.

Rural Doctors Network (RDN) and the Rural Doctors' Association of NSW invite you to this year’s Rural GPs Refresher Conference which will be held from 28-30 March at Sails Port Macquarie. 

Designed specifically for rural GPs, the conference will feature relevant clinical and non-clinical sessions, hands-on workshops, and fun social events with all content tailored to rural practice needs. Plus, the conference is accredited by ACRRM and RACGP, supporting your professional development. 

To make this a memorable event for your whole family, a fully supervised Children’s Program is on offer and additionally, a range of activities including networking events, and relaxing massages are available for partners! 

You can make the most of your time out of the office with the pre-conference ALS 1 and ALS 2 (2-day intensive) workshops just down the road at Rydges on the 27 and 28 March 2025.

Advanced Life Support 1 workshop (ALS1) 

 

Rydges Port Macquarie – Friday 28 March 2025 

This workshop will enhance your skills, knowledge, and confidence in managing medical emergencies, including cardiac arrest and you will learn to recognise, assess, and immediately manage deteriorating patients. 

The course meets the Australian Resuscitation Council (ARC) standards for Advanced Life Support Level 1. No formal prerequisites are required, however participants should be proficient in CPR and review the provided manual in advance. 

The workshop is accredited for CPD and PDP with RACGP and ACRRM, and recognised by the ARC. You will receive an ALS Certificate valid for 4 years, an ARC-issued ALS Provider Wallet Card, and Basic Life Support certification. 

This workshop is followed by RDN and RDA NSW's Rural GPs Refresher Conference and can be booked together or in isolation. Consider attending both to make the most of your time away.

Advanced Life Support 2 course ALS2 (Two-day intensive) 


Rydges Port Macquarie -  27-28 March 2025 

This intensive two-day course focuses on developing advanced skills in managing deteriorating patients and cardiac arrest and is designed for healthcare professionals expected to apply these skills as part of their clinical duties or to teach them regularly. Appropriate participants include doctors and nurses working in critical care areas, members of resuscitation/medical emergency teams, and paramedics. 

Candidates will receive the ALS 2 manual one month prior to the course and are required to complete a 120-question multiple-choice test before the course begins. Prior skills and competence in CPR are essential prerequisites for attending the course. 

This workshop is fully accredited with the Australian Resuscitation Council and is accredited for CPD and PDP with RACGP and ACRRM. 

This workshop is followed by RDN and RDA NSW's Rural GPs Refresher Conference but can be booked in isolation also.
