Award category spotlight: Rural/Remote Health Innovator of the Year Award

Nominations are open for the third National Rural and Remote Health Awards hosted by RDN's Rural Health Pro as part of Rural Health Month in November. With ten categories open for nomination, this week we are shining a spotlight on the Rural/Remote Health Innovator of the Year Award.

Innovator.pngThe Rural/Remote Health Innovator of the Year Award recognises an individual or team that has developed or implemented an innovative approach, or published research, addressing a challenge unique to rural and/or remote health.

Mandatory criteria:

  • Nominee is a team or individual.
  • Demonstrate cultural responsiveness.
  • Activities must have taken place during the period July 2024 - June 2025.
  • In areas designated between MM3-7 of the Modified Monash Model classification system. 

All rural, remote and regional communities now have the opportunity to showcase this work and the #ruralpositive stories that can be found in rural and remote health by nominating today.

Presentation of the Awards will take place on Ngunnawal country at the National Press Club of Australia, in Canberra, on Wednesday 5 November 2025.
