Are you an International Medical Graduate (IMG) preparing for your Pre-Employment Structured Clinical Interview (PESCI)?

This intensive, expert-led preparation workshop, hosted by RDN, is open to all IMGs, already enrolled in a PESCI assessment. Give yourself the best chance of securing your medical career in Australia with our workshop.

This small group workshop is a practical, one-day course specifically designed to provide you with the structure, skills, and confidence to successfully pass the PESCI.  Limited spots are available to ensure high-quality, personalised feedback.

Workshop Highlights

  • Navigating Your IMG General Practice Journey
    • Australian General Practice Overview: We will begin with a general overview of the pathways for IMGs into Australian General Practice, including a discussion of key aspects of working in the Australian system.
    • Essential Resources: Participants will receive a list of online resources upon registration, and we will guide you on how to use these for continued self-study.
  • Understand the PESCI & Assessor Expectations
    • Detailed Assessment Breakdown: Get an in-depth look at the PESCI format, scenario types (e.g., role-play, case discussion), and the assessment criteria used for grading your performance.
    • Key Competencies: Focus on the core skills assessed: clinical knowledge, communication, and professionalism.
    • Avoid Pitfalls: Learn common pitfalls and proven success strategies for each section.
  • Practical Skills: Simulated Role-Plays and Case Planning
    • Simulated Scenarios and Discussion: Work in small groups to practice realistic scenarios based on common Australian general practice presentations (e.g., chronic disease management, mental health, urgent care) and plan your approach to PESCI-style clinical cases.
    • Focused Feedback: Receive peer and facilitator feedback on your clinical reasoning and patient management.
    • Communication Skills Refinement: Master essential communication skills for the PESCI, including empathy, rapport-building, and dealing with difficult patients

Limited spots are available to ensure high-quality, personalised feedback.

Workshop participation does not guarantee a successful PESCI interview, but it does offer crucial preparation and readiness for the assessment.
